Megalabs USA Deepens Prunelax’s® CVS Footprint with 13-SKU Displays at Select Stores

Full Line of Natural Laxative Brand Includes Tablets, Minitabs, Syrups, Jam, Tea and Gummies

MIAMI, May 1, 2023 – Megalabs USA, a subsidiary of multinational company Megalabs that manufactures, markets and distributes pharmaceutical products and nutritional supplements throughout the Americas, today announced that nearly 400 CVS Y Mas/Navarro stores and ethnic-focused Element sections in mainstream CVS locations now carry the complete 13-SKU line of its Prunelax®/Ciruelax natural laxative brand. The placement marks an expansion of the Prunelax® footprint at CVS, which offers a small selection of Prunelax® products at all CVS Pharmacy locations nationwide and has logged 28% sales growth since the brand hit the shelves last year.

Dedicated power wing displays in the pharmacy area of participating stores now showcase all 13 Prunelax®/Ciruelax formulations from regular to maximum strength, including tablets, minitabs, syrups, jam, tea and new gummies with several products specifically targeting children 4 years and older. The display strategy made it possible for the stores to carry the full Prunelax® line without requiring additional shelf space.

Prunelax® uses a mixture of Senna leaves extract and Prune fruit extract to relieve occasional constipation and help maintain bowel regularity. It is a proven safe, effective, gentle natural laxative, used by millions of U.S. consumers over the last few decades, that provides relief within 8 to 12 hours.

CVS’ decision to offer the full Prunelax® portfolio in select stores was fueled by strong demand in markets with large Hispanic populations, where many shoppers prefer natural products and ask for the Prunelax®/Ciruelax brand by name. (Ciruela is the Spanish word for prune.) CVS Y Mas/Navarro stores carry Hispanic-indexed brands in virtually every category and on most aisles, while CVS merchandises a smaller selection of ethnic products in other markets with a strong Hispanic presence through a dedicated Element aisle.
