Prunelax Regular Tea is a natural-origin laxative ideal for elderly people and for those who have issues swallowing. Its Senna leave content alleviates occasional constipation in a soft and effective manner and keep bowel regularity. Its effect is produced between 8 and 12 hours after being ingested and the dose is adjusted depending how much time the tea bag is left in the hot water: 4 minutes (80 ºC) 50% potency, 10 minutes (65 ºC) 75% potency, 20 minutes or more (warm) 100% potency.

Prunelax during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Occasional constipation is very common during pregnancy and lactation due to hormonal changes. Prunelax is not absorbed into the blood stream, so it does not become part of the placenta or breast milk. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, before ingesting any type of laxatives, including Prunelax, consult a health professional.

Can Prunelax provoke dependency?

Dependency is a process involving cerebral structures. Since Prunelax is not absorbed into the blood, it cannot make it to the brain and create dependency.

Does the long-term consumption of laxatives increase tolerance?

No. Tolerance means the patient should increase the dose of the medication with time so that it can continue to work. Research also shows that tolerance to stimulating laxatives is not common and there is no evidence of ricochet constipation after stopping the consumption of laxatives.

Warnings

This product contains Senna. Read and follow package direction carefully. Stop using the product and see a doctor if diarrhea, loose stools or stomach pain develop. If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over two weeks, consult a doctor before using laxatives. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a doctor. Laxative products should not be used for a period longer than one week unless directed by a doctor. Consult a doctor before using this product if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or have medical conditions. Not intended for treatment of chronic constipation.
